d) Conducts Awareness Campaigns providing Seminars, Workshops, Orientation programmes in every academic year in our college Campus.
e) Display Helpline numbers, warning boards, Contact details of the cell members and principal at hostels, Canteens, Notice boards.
f) Ensure Submitting Compulsory affidavits of every student as well as parents during admission and Committing to no Ragging. It is Compulsory. Suggest filling the online undertaking by parents as well as students.

g) An Anti-Ragging Committee is formed at our college by Principal to review the facts of reported incidents or determine actions.
h) Appointed Anti-Ragging squad under the Committee/cell operating like vigilance.
i) Provide Ragging Complaint box at Campus in order to report incidents of Harassment. This is installed near the principal office. Anti-Ragging cell/Committee will handle the complaints or Complaint Box.
j) Meetings are held at the beginning of the academic year in every year (mid or end of Semester)to discuss Campus Safety, Awareness, planning, action taken on past Complaints and review, grievances, etc.

"Gender equality is one of the policies of Nirmal Haloi College, and each one is vigilant to ensure a harassment- free life on the campus.In pursuance of UGC(prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015 Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) is constituted at Nirmal Haloi College to deal with the complaints relating to sexual harassment at work place and to conduct gender sesitization programme. The committee consists of representatives from faculty members, non - teaching staff and students.
Objectives:
1. To create awareness what constitute sexual harass including hostile environment harassment.
2. To organize orientation for the members of ICC, students, staff to deal with complaints and steer with the process of settlement.
3. To treat sexual harassment as a violation of disciplinary rules (leading up to restriction and expulsion) if the perpetrator is a student.
4. To create gender based discrimination/ violence/ biasness free environment inside the campus.

Electoral Literacy Club is constituted at the behest of Election Commission of India. The ELC is a platform for the students of our college through interesting activities and hands on experience to sensitize with their electoral rights. The club familiarizes the students with the electoral process and a motive to aware and ensure the participation of youth and future voters who are pillars of Indian democracy.

VISION:
Electoral Literacy club aims at strengthening the color of electoral participation among young and future voters. The club aims at conducting mock polling activities to give the experience based learning of the democratic setup and also conduct drawing, debates, mock parliament, essay writing, quiz and other programs which create awareness regarding electoral procedures.

MISSION:
1. To create awareness and interest among faculties and students through workshop.
2. To educate the targeted populations about voter registration, electoral process and related matters through hands on experience
3. To familiarize the targeted populations with EVM and VVPAT and to educate them about robustness of EVM and integrity of the electoral process using EVMs
4. To harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in communities.
5. To develop a culture of Electoral participation and maximize the informed and ethical voting and follow the principle “every vote count” and “No vote to be left behind”.

Students Aid Fund Committee of Nirmal Haloi College

Aim
The main aim of the Students Aid Fund Committee is to provide financial assistance to poor and needy students so that they can continue their higher education without interruption. The committee works for the welfare of economically weaker students.

Eligibility

Students may apply for aid if they:

1.Belong to economically weaker families.
2.Have good academic performance and regular attendance.


Application Process

1.Students collect the application form from the college office or committee.
2.Fill up the form with required details.
3.Attach documents such as income certificate, mark sheet, fee receipt, etc.
Submit the application to the committee within the given date.
4.The committee verifies the applications and selects deserving students for financial assistance.


The Students Aid Fund acts as a support system for deserving students and helps them complete their education successfully.
The college also provides scholarship and student welfare support for needy students.

Profile

The Women Forum of Nirmal Haloi College was constituted on 5 January 2004 in a meeting presided over by Shri Nirmal Chandra Saikia, the then Vice-Principal of the college. The Forum was established with the objective of promoting women’s empowerment, social awareness, and educational advancement within the institution and the surrounding rural community. The founding executive body comprised Mrs. Sabitri Bezbarua as President, Mrs. Siran Das as Vice-President, Mrs. Kalyani Devi as Secretary, and Ms. Madhusmita Goswami as Assistant Secretary. Other teaching staff members, namely Mrs. Nirmali Mahanta Choudhury, Mrs. Gitashri Goswami, Dr. Nabanita Kalita, and Dr. Binima Patgiri, were inducted as members of the Forum. Since its inception, the Women Forum has served as an important platform for articulating women’s concerns, encouraging intellectual exchange, and fostering gender sensitivity on campus. The Forum regularly organises seminars, workshops, awareness programmes, certificate courses, and discussions focusing on women’s education, legal rights, health, and socio-economic empowerment.
Objectives of the Women Forum
1. To promote social, cultural, educational, and economic empowerment among rural women through awareness and community-oriented programmes.
2. To encourage rural women to prioritise the education of girl children and enable their active participation in social and national development.
3. To provide training and skill-development programmes for rural women in areas such as food preservation, nutrition, and preparation of low-cost balanced diets for sustainable livelihood and health awareness.
4. To create awareness regarding women’s rights, legal protections, and gender justice with the aim of preventing violence and discrimination against women.
5. To encourage environmental consciousness and promote the preservation and protection of the natural environment in the locality of Patacharkuchi and its surrounding areas.
6. To observe and celebrate significant national and international programmes and commemorative days related to women’s welfare, empowerment, and gender equality.
7. To work in alignment with and contribute towards the objectives and welfare activities of the Assam College Teachers’ Association (ACTA).
8. To create awareness regarding physical, mental, and emotional well-being through health-related programmes, counselling initiatives, and awareness campaigns.
