The internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Nirmal Haloi College has become an integral part of the institutions system and works towards realizing the goal of quality enhancement and sustenance. Over the year the IQAC has developed a system for continuous, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of the college, evolved mechanisms and procedures for ensuring that the objectives of the IQAC as envisaged by NAAC are met and has made significant and meaningful contribution towards channelizing efforts and measures for academic excellence. The IQAC of the college coordinates all quality related activities by developing an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication. It works to enhance and integrate the various activities of the college and to ensure the adoption and dissemination of best practices. The IQAC spearheads the conduct of the internal and external academic audit of the departments, which promotes quality, accountability and transparency. The IQAC has been set up in with a view to achieving actions plans for quality evaluation, quality sustenance and quality up gradation of the college. Accordingly the cell has been making untiring effort to motivate and guide the students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college to achieve quality excellence and maintenance taken-up by the IQAC are the introduction of Students feedback systems as well as Alumni feedback, planning for examination reform and facility enhancement for the benefit of the students.

Nirmal Haloi College, one of the premier institutions of higher education in Assam, has celebrated Silver Jubilee in November 2004. Even after the emergence of almost a dozen of college in the hinterland, N.H. College still continues its rich intellectual heritage and academic ethos. Though the college is primarily located in an urban area, most of the students are from rural area. Therefore, the college ensures the best assistance and guidance for those students to scrub off their ignorance and familiarize them to their moral and civic responsibilities besides the standardized academic curriculum. As a part of its social commitment/responsibilities, the college has played a leadership role in various areas that require guidance and direction has been persistently involved in bringing about positive changes to the society at large. In furthering the vision of social inclusiveness, the college has a student friendly admission process to make education accessible for all. A gradual increase in the student intake in the last three years proves that point. The beauty and eco-friendly campus of the college is very conducive to the pursuit of academic activities. With the full fledged streams of Arts and commerce, Nirmal Haloi College continues to add new feathers in its cap. At present, the college has successfully implemented the semester system in UG level under Gauhati University.

No one can deny the fact that in the academic level, the college has more or less achieved its desired goal. Every year students of various departments get their names enlisted in rank list of BA final examination under G.U. Apart from the academic pursuit, the college moves ahead with the objectives of the holistic development of the students in extra-curricular activities. The students showed their talents in every field such as sports, literary activities, debating, cultural activities and many others. Some of them have participated in National and state level competitions and won prizes.
