The History department of NH College is as old as the college itself. The founder of the institution realized the importance of the subject as the famous historians realized- what men have done and said and above all what they have taught. Establishment of the department of History has been done but the problem of getting the qualified teachers was the major problem. Hence, they appointed two qualified teachers from the nearby higher secondary school. There was a very good response from the student.
Presently the department of History functioning as a full-fledged department offering the following programme of studies-
PD course (Higher Secondary course 1st and 2nd semester)
UG course (Semester course with Major & General)
Presently the department has two permanent teachers.
