NIRMAL HALOI COLLEGE LIBRARY PROFILE:
The Central Library of N.H. College was established in 1979. At the initial stage, it was managed by Dr. P.C. Goswami and N. Das. Library building is located at the central place of the college and is easily accessible by students, staff and others. Computerized and manual circulation is made available for issue, return and renewal of books. Teaching and learning system are supported by library through reading material. Our library is well equipped with textbooks, reference books, journals, periodicals and newspapers etc.
At present the Central Library is in a flourishing state, with an intact collection of about 20610 titles as of August 16, 2024. The Titles includes- Text books, References, Encyclopaedia. Borrower of this college are 2321 nos. of students (both male and female) and 41 nos. of teaching and non-teaching staff. An entry-in services competitive examination corner is available in the library, providing resources and support for students preparing for competitive exams. The library has a specific section called the Amar Patacharkuchi: A Collection of Native Publications corner that is devoted to preserving books from the region around it.
We have internet with Wi-Fi connectivity in the Library, E- Journals and E-Books (Under INFLIBNET-NLIST) and Book Bank and Xerox facilities in the Library. We also have E-Resource with 4 computers for students. SOUL 3.0 version is installed replacing the previous version SOUL 1.0 and data conversion is also done. Web OPAC is used on a single computer to search for library borrowers. Additionally, we have a special collection of magazines and journals in bound volumes from 1996. 1 national newspaper & 5 regional newspapers are available in the library.
We are trying our level best to make the library unique by applying modern facilities.
