The Department of Political Science of Nirmal Haloi College,Patacharkuchi, was established in the year of 1979.In the year 2024,the department has completed 45 years of its glorious presence with significance contribution towards teaching in the discipline of political Science.The Department has produced approximately 1500 graduates from its establishment.

Career Opportunities for Students of Political Science

1. Civil Services and Public Administration:
Many Political Science graduates pursue careers in Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Assam Civil Services (ACS), and other government jobs through competitive exams like UPSC, APSC, SSC, etc.


2. Academia and Research:
Students can pursue higher studies (M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.) and take up careers in teaching and research in colleges and universities.


3. Law and Judiciary:
Political Science provides an excellent foundation for law studies. Graduates can pursue LLB and work as lawyers, judges, legal advisors, or in human rights organizations.
